The Open-E Data Storage Software V6 (DSS V6) is a unified file and block storage management operating system (OS) that provides Network Attached Storage (NAS), iSCSI, InfiniBand and Fibre Channel Storage Area Network (SAN) functionality.

Open-E DSS V6 provides superior performance, security, and scalability at a fraction of the cost of alternative storage offerings. Advanced features of Open-E DSS V6 include Data and Volume Replication, Volume Snapshot, Automatic Failover for iSCSI Volumes, WORM and NDMP. Additionally, Open-E DSS V6 supports a wide variety of hardware RAID platforms from the industry’s leading names. The versatility of the Open-E DSS V6 also allows users to combine NAS systems with iSCSI SAN systems, and provides built-in virus protection, while enabling the connection of multiple Network Interface Controllers, including Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, Fibre Channel and InfiniBand. Open-E DSS V6 Upgrade

After entering an Upgrade License Key into your DSS V6 Lite the product will become a fully functional DSS V6, the storage capacity will remain the same. For example in the case of a standard DSS V6 Lite 2TB installation, you will receive a DSS V6 2TB & if DSS V6 Lite was previously upgraded to higher capacities, these capacities will also be supported in the full version after the upgrade.

The Annual Standard Support license provides the end user to have his own Open-E User Portal to Phone or Email technical support.

This will allow you to correspond with an Open-E support engineer to obtain assistance on your technical questions that you may have and receive small updates, or solutions which are associated with the DSS V6 or DSS V6 Lite products features only.

Storage Extension

The storage capacity of Open-E products may be extended in an easy and convenient manner by purchasing additional storage licenses.

Extension keys for capacities of 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 terabytes are available - additional storage licenses sum up, and add to the value of the expanded product. This option allows the administrator to better manage and plan storage resources, and only increase overall storage capacity when necessary.
